This is the place to learn about this incredible service of the technical work of Amber plugging things together which can also include:
- Advice and consultation about business processes and user flow
- Creation of images
- Using cross-links in blogs to increase SEO
- Social media management and / or advice
- Making sure the website works for you!
There are two ways we can work together:
- Are you starting a NEW website? - or -
- Do you already have a website which needs a web designer to fix, add-to, or maintain?
If you are starting a NEW website, that's great! The beginning is always a great place to start! Do you have a business plan? Do you have a map to follow for the process and design? Do you have a color scheme, font and style theme already picked out? That's great! If not, we can work together to figure these things out. This is what the consultations are for = I am a partner working with you to help you design the best path for your website users aka, your customers!
Do you already know what their "user flow" plan is? This is the relationship the customer has with the information you share and the path they take to become your customer. How many points of information do they need to see? How many times do you need to email them or talk to them before they know what they want to buy? Depending on what your business is, how it's set up, and what your relationship is with your customers or website users all depends on what that flow plan looks like. Don't have a flow plan? Don't want one? No problem, I can help figure that out too -
The Super Secure Way
In addition to having experience with the drag-and-drop website builders of: Wix, Weebly, Godaddy, I've also worked in Wordpress - which has many options, plug-in's and capabilities - I have years of experience in building websites ground-up using an open source software: Joomla. It is awesome because it is more secure on the backend when certain protocols are followed. This is why I'm editing this website through my laptop running linux, using a Debian operating system (instead of windows), I host the site in Canhost (outside of the United States patriot act which can randomly pull websites with no reason or process, all of a sudden your site is GONE), using Hestia to control the server, and then Joomla to edit the sites. There are all sorts of extensions which can make the site do almost anything and I know SOME code of CSS and HTML, enough to get by in editing some basic code snippits to make the sites do certain things! The thing is with doing the sites this way - I either need to host the site on my server, which is pretty low cost, and maintain it and be your dedicated web designer. OR, if you want to own it, host it and do all the things in your own accounts, I can set that up for you, but it will cost extra ($2k more) since I need to set up ALL of these systems for you, convert an old laptop to linux and TEACH you how to login and access the site, make changes and be the other dedicated admin. This is THE way to set up a server which can run multiple websites, the ongoing rate is less than the basic hosting on wix or weebly (around $30/month) and once I set it up you would be able to maintain it. Check out my teacher's site: college in the clouds . com (without the spaces)
Blessings! Click on the image to schedule a time for a website consultation and we'll talk about what you have, what you want, and what the options are to get there!
Here are some websites I have made or collaborate with maintaining:
https://www.thresholdlearninghub.com
This site was built in a time crunch! It is hosted on the Alighten server, I helped do everything with this site. Another collaborator helped provide content and ideas, we gathered photos and bios from the others. I helped find extra images, edit images, edit text, upload the user form, create emails for the form to be responsive. This has been a great project, I'm so glad I was able to help build it.
https://www.launchyourlearningcenter.com
This site is built in Weebly and I collaborated with another web designer who helped build it.
https://www.unincorporatedliberty.com
This site is hosted in Mighty Networks, so this is the landing page for our private community for PMA Trustees and Directors. I helped purchase the domain and host the domains on the Alighten server.
https://www.unincorporatedliberty.net
Since Mighty Networks does not have the option for a responsive sign-up form, and we needed our members to click a checkbox to agree to the membership terms, plus we needed a signature AND file uploads, I suggested, let's make another website to have a sign up. I helped with everything with this site, all the images, color scheme, text - Layne my partner with Unincorporated Liberty helped a lot with the text content which I'm so thankful for! I think this site looks great, another one built in a time crunch. It was built outdoors on my laptop in early summer.
This lovely website was almost an experiment - would it work??? (and it does)
This is a website for our online courses! When you look at options for hosting an online course this one exceeds them all! Bringing this site up to speed on the back end is the next project - which means, simply, uploading more courses! This site can hold multiple courses, it keeps track of student progress, students and teacher / administrators become "users" in the back-end of joomla where I can see their progress, their login's, keep track of time, etc... Creating a site like this is a multi-layered project where lots of collaboration would be needed between the creator and the web designer.
This lovely website is for Alighten, a Ministry and Private Member Association. This website has been a work of art for me. In the past, I've hired two web developers to create it, the first in Wordpress, the second in Wix, then thankfully, I took full ownership and created it on-my-own and my! What a journey it's been!
